My cat jumped onto my laptop and pressed some of the keys. Now the cursor won't move, it stays on the screen in the same place. I don't have a plug in mouse, I have the touch sensitive one built in. I've tried switching on and off but it still doesn't respond. Please help!

have you tried going into your BIOS and tried turning off the touch pad mouse come out and then go back into the BIOS and turn it back on.

There will be a Fn key combination to disable the mouse pad. Look for a key with the mouse symbol, hold down the Fn key plus that one.

Thanks everyone I'll keep you posted. The laptop is an Acer one, will check model. It is XP.

Try using the Touchpad Toggle. Key <Fn>+<F7> which should turn it on.

Fn and F7 worked! Thank you
