what file formats does your standalone player play?
You may need to convert the files.

it says on my manual here that my TV can play all Media Disks.

its the dvd manual you need to look at..
look for file formats ie mpeg not media discs ie dvd-r dvd+r,its normally the compression of the file that affects the playback or not recognising it at all.

Try dvd Flick as Raven posted it will make them proper dvd's. Possibility if you are mixing formats for the one disc that may foul it up. Yoiu tube are FLV are you coverting them to avi first
