Computer freezes, often when typing an email or when computer goes into screen saver mode.Windows XPHave followed the sequences from the service log, and the most frequently logged as 'Error' under the Service Control Manager is 7000, User N/A. This happens every time the PC freezes. Others, just before shutting down are Event 7011; and there's been one logged as Print Error, Event 19. There are also Warning messages ref W32 Time, code 36.
for the time problem double click your clock bottom right, click internet time and update now and see if that stops the warning messages
as you say it freezes when going into screen saver have you tried changing the screen saver?maybe a long shot as it freezes when writing email i know.
could also be overheating have you cleaned the vents properly?another thing to try is a system file check.another is updating drivers.
Would ccleaner be of any help ?
I know it doesent help, but get rid of your screensaver, which you dont need.
try thisRight click the clock and select adjust date/time.Select Internet Time tab.Copy time-a.nist.gov (it may appear in dropdown menu) and paste it in.Click Update NowAfter it updates, OK out.
ccleaner is a useful cleaner so you can give it a shot, back up when prompted when cleaning the registry.
Is Mcafee antivirus a likely cause?
click heredon't think its your A/V, some more good info in link...
