CPU Underperforming

  shiv 20:38 26 Apr 2004

I think there is something wrong with my system i upgraded it around Christmas 2003 with a new motherboard 512Mb ram and a AMD Athalon XP 3000+
it only runs at ~1.3Ghz this seems a bit slow to me.
An advise would help however i don't really wan't to overclock my system.

Sounds like the multiplier is set wrong... this will serve as a bump for those with more knowledge about such things than me.

Hi Shiv

I had this problem a few weeks ago. Got out motherboard manual, changed jumper setting on motherboard and hey presto. This is your best bet.

Looks as if your fsb needs altering to 166[333]

  Rayuk 19:11 27 Apr 2004

Enter bios and go to
Frequency/Voltage Control
change cpu fsb clock to 166
