How do you check the CPU temp?

  Technotiger 20:32 16 Jan 2008

Download and install (Free) PC Wizard 2008 - this will tell you all about your PC, including CPU Temp.

How do you check it in the bios?

  skidzy 20:49 16 Jan 2008

Depending on your mobo, tapping F2 or maybe the delete key on startup.
Consult the manual if you have it.

Bingo !!! I think.

Using PC Wizard may have told me the problem.

CPU Processor throttling is at 79oC
CPU Processor shut down is 82oC

So must be due to shut down, just going to run something and it should shut down !!!

Can anyone confirm if this model lappy actually has a type of heatsink fan or is it the psu fan i can hear ??

Aint it typical,im trying to force a shut down by running this and that...it wont shut down now Lol.

Ok guys cheers for the advice, going to strip it down and have a look into the cooling of the machine as im pretty confident it is overheating.

Thanks again all, will let you know how i get along, but for now i will tick this.

And yes it did shut down eventually....Lol
