CPU Reporting Incorrect

I have an 866mhz Pentium3 pc. I recently had Comsum errors advising me that my battery needed replacement. I have now replaced the battery but at start-up the computer reports the CPU as being 433mhz - 50% of its actual mhz. When I check control panel / system it also reports the CPU as 433mhz. I am sure the BIOS needs amending but can not see anywhere in the BIOS allowing that to be amended. Any suggestions how I can get the other half back?

check the CPU multiplier in the bios is set correctly. This times the CPU core clock speed gives you the CPU's correct processing speed in Mhz
