Go to your local college and ask on availability of IT courses that cover hardware maintenance and repair...

Data Can be recovered from drives with:

MBR corrupt
File system Corrupt
(MAlware problems)

Wiped less than military standard

Electronics damaged

Clean lab required if
Heads damaged but recovery possible

Platter damage is unlikely to allow much data recovery.

Thanks MAT ALAN and Fruit Bat /\0/\. I would like to do one of the courses but seems very expensive. I only want to do the course, so I could extend my knowledge on a faulty H/D. Anyway thanks again for your help.

If you are thinking on pots off Money, Forget it as you are going to have a need for lots of money to start up. One of the ways used is that when the PCB Hard Disc Controller, goes you look for old drives with a working PCB to change them. People know why you want old drives, So they ask for pots of money
