Took my laptop to France last year and was unable to send any emails despite being able to receive them and load web pages etc. I am using Vista on a Dell Vostro and use Talktalk as my ISP. Any thoughts on what I may have done incorrectly or potential problem areas?
You would need to change the settings for your outgoing server address to reflect the ISP being used with the WiFi signal you were using. Still TalkTalk for incoming (which is why that worked OK) but change the outgoing.
Yes, AOL Mail is a free web-based email (webmail) service provided by AOL. The service is sometimes referred to as AIM Mail where AIM stands for AOL Instant Messenger which is AOL's instant messaging service click here
Webmail (or Web-based e-mail) is e-mail accessed via a web browser such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, as opposed to through a desktop e-mail client such as Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Pegasus Mail, Mozilla's Thunderbird etc.
