Core i7chips vs Q9560

ello everyone.
I've planning to customise a gaming rig online. I started off with a Q9650 a few weeks ago, but then the new chips came out. Can someone tell me where my old choice sits when placed next to the new ones, shall I just stick with the Q9650?

Intel® Core™i7 Processor i7-920 (4 X 2.66GHz)
Intel® Core™i7 Processor i7-940 (4 X 2.93GHz)
Intel® Core™i7 Processor Extreme Edition i7-965 (4 X 3.20GHz)

Cheers

Even the slowest one i7-920 faster than the 3GHz Q9650?

A Core i7 920 (2.66GHz) is slightly faster than a QX9770 (3.2GHz) at stock speeds. A Q9650 is nearly £200 dearer than the 920. Admittedly you'll pay over the odds for an X58 motherboard and decent DDR3 RAM to use the 920.

Thanks for clearing this up Sparticus :) The reason I was asking is because I recently asked for a refund on a Q9650 system (DDR3 1600 memory, 790i mobo etc) and was a little unsure as to opt for the newer chips & which. Thanks for helping..and Citadel too :)
