copying video TS to a DVD

  Daisy22 08:37 08 Sep 2009

I've borrowed a film in video TS format which I would like to copy to a DVD to watch on a DVD player.

I've tried using Nero Express 6, but each time I've tried I get error messages.

Is it possible to be able to do this and if so, what should I do.

Many thanks

Assuming you mean Video_ts then get Imgburn its free just choose write files or folders to disc and either use its file/foder to get to your foder or Drag the folder onto it

this message is written 5 times then

Thats a problem with either the disks or the disk burning program.

Try burning at a lower speed I never burn at more than 8x

the disks are new and I tried to burn at 4 x

thanks jack i will try that programme

have tried the suggestion Jack gave and am getting this message now

"data exceeds the size of the media"

I've added all the VLC media files

Video_TS VOB 7.54 mb
VTS_01_0.VOB 7.74 mb
VTS_01_1.VOB 1023.97 mb
VTS_01_2 VOB 1023.97 mb

and so on until VTS_01_5.VOB

Am I adding too many files perhaps? Also before wasting another disk can I save them onto the PC before transferring and burning to a DVD?

What size is the Folder forget4.7 G/byte you can only get about 4.3 on a dvd
If its over that then get dvd shrink its free import the file then back up and choose burn with nero (which you select in preferences)it'll shrink and author then automatically burn with NERO

As cam says there is a max capacity for burning DVDs a free compression programs is the way- you will lose some quality.

It is interesting to note the both of the Sony DVD/Hard disk recorders that I have owowned that work with TV will automatically - detect- content to disk sise and compress acaccordingly
I wonder if there is a burner program to do that on a PC or if it has to be two separate functions?
