copying registry items from 1 pc to another

  pookie 12:54 08 Apr 2004

at work we have approx 25 pcs linked via server and we have a database which all pc's have access to.

we got a new pc last week and installed the database disk on it but whenever you double click on the database icon it says 'bde registry items are missing' and the only option is to 'ok'.

is there anyway i can copy the 'bde' registry items from an up and running database pc and paste them on to the new pc. i have tried to 'copy' but the strings/etc don't copy - just the name of the folder.

many thanks

You can right click and choose export; then bring the file to the new pc and double click to add to registry. But I'm not sure of the safety of thius.

Many, many thanks - I exported the file as suggested (to floppy) and imported it to new pc and it works/merges/etc so well done.
