Copying Files using DOS

I need someone to tell me how to copy some files from the hard drive from a computer that i can only access DOS from (because it keeps blacking out on my Windows XP upgrade from Windows 98).

I need to copy the files from the hard drive (C:/) to the floppy drive (A:/). Can some please help, its only the command that i need.

into the directory on the HD which you wish to copy the files from then the syntax is

COPY filename A:
Providing the space on your floppy is sufficient, you can use wild cards. Star (*) means any so;

COPY *.* a:\ means copy all files in directory to a:\root

Copy /? at command promt may help a bit more.

Do not forget that long file names are not supported in dos

Thanks for your help but i managed to install another OS on to the system and then drag and drop the file across to the floppy drive.
