I want to clean up my "C" drive to then install some original apps. Is it OK to use COPY, then PASTE to external drive? ( There IS sufficient space on the target drive). I want then to select the software from the target to use on "C" again. Thanks geedad
peter99co - Thanks! ================================================ DieSse "Are you planning to wipe C clean and re-install from scratch?"
Yes, I do have a Sony Recovery Disc, whereby I can install the system and all of the original applications. It does provide the option for "C" drive, and leaves "D" as is. (I hope!!) One or two of the original apps. are not working, probably due to too many new ones added, uninstalled and ... you know what I mean. Thanks geedad.
If the Operating System is on C:\ no you cannot copy Files that are being used. i.e System files. Only way to do that is Image C:\ using Acronis True Image. after you reload windows you can open the image in Windows Explorer if you load Acronis on the Drive first, it then allows you to Explor the Image and drag files from it
