I am taking my laptop away and wanted to copy 'my documents' and my photo albums onto a cd to leave behind in case of fire flood theft etc! I use windows xp and am a novice so any advice in simple language much appreciated...
Right click on which folders you want to copy and select 'send to CDRW' - assuming your laptop has a CD writer?
Once you've done this a small CD icon will appear in the notification area (bottom right next to the clock). Double click it and the temporary folder with everything that you want to copy will appear. You can then simply click on 'write these files to CD' in the top left task pane.
If you're having problems make sure that your CD writing facility is enabled. Right click on the CD drive icon in my computer, go to properties, recording, enable CD recording on this drive and make sure the box is ticked.
