Trying to copy a playlist to cd r or rw
When i click copy it says no device detected .
I am running windows XP with media player 10.
I have copied before so the device has probably been diabled some how.
Any idea on how to rectify this.

Launch Media player, click on Tools/Options/devices.

Check your drive is listed in the window. Highlight your CDR drive and click on Properties/Recording. Check Enable recording on this drive.

Good luck.

On my system in the devices window it shows DVD-RW / CD Drive / Display / Speakers.

If i do properties on the DVD-RW i get three tabs, Audio / Recording / Quality.

On the CD Drive i get only the Audio tab.

It sounds like your Recording drive is not showing up. Only the CD drive.

Go to Start / Right click My Computer / Properties / Hardware / Device manager. Expand the CD / DVD option. Do you have a CD and a CDwriter listed, Right click each one and click properties. At the bottom it should say" use this device Enable "

delete drive from the list and restart windows... Windows will then re-install the drive when you log on!!!

Do you mean delete or disable.
If delete please can you advise how to do it

As in my post above, in Device manager, expand CD/DVD, right click on Combi RW drive and click on Uninstall. On bootup Windows will find the drive and reinstall it.

Then do the "Media Player/Tools/options/devices again and check your drive for "audio/recording/quality" tabs.
