Any suggestions about the best/simplest way I can convert some treasured old vcr tapes to DVDs?
click hereBuy a stand alone DVD recorder and connect your VCR to it and record in real time ;-)
There are lots of waysWhat is your PC set up? OS, Processor speed, memory etc? That'a a good starting place
Or use a digital + analogue PCI TV card such as the TwinHan DTV-ter d + a from click here (see: click here)
PC is running XP with 1 MB RAM and loads of hard disk space. I have a DVD RW drive.
Doing it via the PC with a capture card/unit will take around 7 hours for a 3 hour VHS tape.A standalone DVD recorder as suggested by dadyassa will do it in real time. ie. a 3 hour tape will take 3 hours, (but you cannot edit it).Have a read through some of these previous threads for more information.click here
Sorry didn't check dadyassa link, which is the same as mine.
Can not just connect a scart lead to both vcr anddvd then hit record on one play on the other. You need a dvd with the record funtion/hard drive though for it to work i think.
Thank you, everyone. I have learnt a lot.
