converting a drive to NTFS from FAT32

  jack 19:47 28 Apr 2008

One of my flock have asked me how to do this to an external drive.
This I can help him with. Remove existing 'stuff' and reformat in disk management.

But I get a niggle that to do this would not necessarily a goof ides.
I seem recall that FAT32 is universal file type where as to make a drive NTFS- could give rise to read write issues.
Can any one clarify this before get down to it with him?

Nothing very difficult about it. See:

or use the Seagate Disk Wizard from the Seagate website.

You are probably thinking of the fact that you normally cannot change back to FAT32 unless you use a utility such as Partition Magic.
