If you are using XP, download and install Movie Maker 2. Create your slideshow, even adding background music, on completion save in 'My Videos' and a WMV (Windows Media Video) file will be created.Convert this file to MPeg 1 (VCD) via TMPGenc. Copy file to CDR as a Data file and try this out on your DVD Player. This method works on my Nokia player. An alternative route is to buy Video Studio 7, or Pinnacle, £30 to £40. Prepare slideshow and convert to VCD within the program and copy to disc. Movie Maker 2 is a free download from Microsoft as good as the others but it requires additional software to convert to VCD.
From the help files: Most recent DVD players work well with an HP memories disc. To play a memories disc, a DVD player must have the following capabilities:· Be compatible with Video CD (VCD) format, also known as Compact Disc Digital Video.· Be able to read CD-R or CD-RW media. The DVD user's manual usually (but not always), describes what types of media the player supports. To interactively browse the pictures on a memories disc, the DVD player must support the Video CD 2.0 format. This is sometimes known as Playback Control (PBC).TipMany older DVD players support CD-RW media only. The best way to find out what works is to try a memories disc on both types of media in your DVD player.HP Memories Disc Creator Software: if you want to get this free prog. click here
many thanks folks, will try both and see what happens.
