Constant rebooting

For some reason, my system is crashing when the desktop appears and going back into startup mode. It's doing this perhaps four or five times in a row then suddenly booting up successfully. Any ideas what I should try please? Thanks in anticipation of an answer!

You need to stop it rebooting so that you can see any error reports/blue screens that appear to do this: properties on "My Computer" then "advanced"tab then click on "Start up and Recovery" "settings"tab under "System Failure" take the tick out of "Automatically restart" then yes/ok to all and reboot machine, hopefully when this problem happens again it may give an error to follow up on (when it does write it down)then post on here...
You will find that 9 out of 10 times this will be a software problem..hope this helps..

Have you made any changes to your RAM recently?
I say this because ill matched or faulty RAM can cause exactly your problem.

If you have more than one piece, try one at a time in the primary slot and see if it stops this bother.
