Connection requests

When I click onto E-Mail or Internet explorer, I Get a message "msimn,exe" or iexplore.exe"
requests a connextion to the internet. Can anybody tell me what these are and if they are damaging if accessed

msimn.exe = Outlook Express
iexplorer.exe = Internet Explorer

Pretty much in the same vein...

I read this thread because it might have been something I was looking for.

Background... I'm on nthell broadbean. And... Every so often, when I'm browsing and occasionally start up, I get a request to use my dial-up connection. I've hunted high and low to try and find out what is making that request - with no success.

I followed your link to liutilities, the page came up and instantly asked for me to make a dial-up connection.

Can you suggest why?
