Connection Constantly "active"

I have a pc and two laptops set up as a wireless network. One of thel aptops seems to be constantly sending/recieving data from the router. (at least judging by the flashing lights on the wireless network icon in the system tray)
According to Zone alarm it seems to be svchost.exe thats involved, although strangely enough it can sometimes still happen even if I stop svchost from accessing the internet.
I've not really noticed this before and the other laptop and pc don't seem to "access" the router as much as this one (i.e. only when downloading web pages etc)
This laptop did have a lot of spyware/virus infection recently but I thought i'd cleared everything up (antivirus, adaware, spybot etc show nothing untoward)That's why i'm concerned there may be something sinister going on or is there a simple explaination?
Many thanks
