Connecting RS232 printer output directly to a PC

  MisterEzzzzz 20:08 24 Mar 2006

I have a machine that keeps a log of events and outputs them to a printer via an RS232 Port. I am trying to collect this information and input it directly into a datebase...Initially i would like to connect direct to a pc but eventually it may be helpful to pass the information by network

Any help or suggestions will gratefully received

I have limited knowledge of how this all fits together but I'm not entirly backwards

Cheers, Thanks for taking the time to read this

I have looked at windmill and i'm not sure if this will take text through it or it is just looking for data values ie the sort of data collected by a data logger
