Hi I'm going to buy a new PC I think and want the nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX card with it but I think I would maybe not now although I'd like to but to fix my new pc to a HD LCD TV, to surf and use my new machine more of a media player and to scrap my benq 19" monitor. Does anyone know if this is advisable and if tvs are any good as monitors. Which brand also ? I like the price of the Samsung LE32R87 or 88.

Would I need speacial cables, would the graphics card work to its full potential on a tv ?

Thanks
Phil

In brief, the maximum vertical display resolution you will get out of either of these TVs is 768 pixels.

Against that, even a downmarket monitor is 1024 pixels high. For the same price as the TV, you could get a higher-res widescreen monitor.

TVs are not designed to be computer monitors. Not recommended.. HTH.
