connecting laptop to monitor

  amosoreilly 19:32 28 Feb 2008

i want to connect my laptop to a monitor. my laptop has a vga port. the lead i got with my monitor is blue at each end with 15 pins in each connector. the connectors have two screws on at each end, the fitting is right for the monitor but the laptop has no holes for the screws and so it does not fit tight. can i get a cable without the screw ins at one end, or even better can i buy a less bulky cable, many thanks.

screws are only to hold the plug in. If it fits it will work as both are VGA
