I have vista ultimate installed on my laptop, and I want to connect to the domain at school. I can already use the wireless, to access the internet, but I cannot access my files on the school server without logging onto one of the very slow computers.
Is it possible to connect vista to an xp domain, and if so what will I need to do this.

We have a Vista test PC in the office that logs into one of our domains, so it can be done yes.

Standard home networks use a 'Workgroup' name which you can change to connect to a Domain assuming your laptop is plugged into their network.

However depending on how your school network is setup, the network admin may need to make some adjustments to enable your laptop to connect to the domain.
