connecting 2nd. computor to internet (non network)

  KAPLAH 13:47 12 Feb 2007

Iprently have my computor wired up to tiscali as my ISP, and the computor is switched off when not in use. My wife has now decided that she would like to be on the internet (upstairs)using it at anytime whether I have my machine switched on or not. The phone line comes into the house right next to my computor. I run windows XP and she runs windows 2000. What is going to be best. A wireless router or do I run a another phone line up to her,

If you need to share the same ISP & phone line then wireless is probably the best way for you.

Hi Kaplah. Wireless is by far the easiest way. I have just bought a Netgear DDG834G modem router which came with a WG111 USB wireless adapter click here. (Both items are also available separately). I connected my main computer via the ethernet port and my laptop using the USB wireless adapter and had both computers online within 30 minutes.
