I have disabled firewall and anti virus

Changed security settings in internet options

Still no joy any other ideas

if go into internet Explorer Tools, Click on Delete option for Browsing windows also check the Check box in ther and delete all Browsing history.

Also go to Advanced Tab, Reset internet Explorer settings. make sure you apply changes. Then right click on ie7.

Which internet securty have you got?

Also have a look in Device manager and make sure network in their is not dissabled.

In notification tray does the connection icon show access as Local and Internet? If it only shows Local you'll need to change the broadcasting channel on the router.

It shows local and internet. Other laptops work wirelessly off router so know there is no problem with router. Something on laptop

...have you re-booted the modem/router since you added the new machine?

  sugarbabe 21:57 14 Sep 2008

done all of the above and still no luck. pinged ip and all looks fine. Convinced it is something to do with laptop not router.

Done virus and ad ware scan and all ok although cannot update either.

tried ip flush and re setting tcp etc still no luck
