Due to my lounge layout my media streamer and Sky HD box are not near my router, therefore I have my streamer connected to the router by ethernet cable. I'm looking in to setting up Sky Anytime+ and will need to connect both the Sky box and the streamer to the same ethernet cable at the same time. It appears I need an ethernet switch but they seem a bit OTT as I only need it to have 2 ports, not five, and I am (as always) looking for the cheapest method possible.
Would a 'ethernet splitter' adapter work or are these only for using one item at once? Though of course I will only be watching streamed stuff OR Sky stuff at any one time and not both.
