Connect External hard Drive to Wireless Router

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to connect an External hard Drive to a Wireless Router.

Would I need a specific Router or would it be possible using my existing NETGEAR MR814?

No, to do this you will need a NAS (Network Attached Storage). This will plug into your router and act as an external hard disk

Or you will need this type of router

Network storage drives will connect to routers via Ethernet.

If you mean you want to convert a standard IDE internal hard drive to Network Storage there are kits / enclosures available which will allow you to connect to a router (via Ethernet again).
