Connect another pc as a separate drive

I have bought a new pc and would like to connect my old pc to the new one as a extra drive to transfer the info on the old to the new is this possible. The new pc is running XP the old is running ME. HELP.

If both PCs have net work cards or LAN ports then you can connect directly with a crossover cable.

Enable sharing on the old drives and set the firewalls to allow access.
