Hi guys,
I have a braodband wireless router, and 2 pcs that are connected to it. I can get the internet fine with no problem at all. I want to set up a folder so that the two pcs can share it.
Im quite an experienced pc user at many things but networking is something i know very little about.
Thanks for your help guys.
Both pcs runnin xp pro.

You already have shared folders - C:\Docs and Settings\All users\Documents shows in My Comp as Shared Documents - so there is really very little to do. Follow my info in the above thread.

Thanks mate, Il give it a go.

I tried that but to no avail mate. I set up a few folders in the place you said and set the options to share it. I got the hand icon under the folder so i think its ok. But when i try to access it from the other computer there is nothing there. The two pcs are both communicating with the internet but not to each other. Heres how im set up.
1 Wireless broadband router connected directly to cable modem.
1USB wireless networking dongle in each pc.
Many thanks.

Have you configured the client firewalls...? Can you ping succesfully?

Can you post an ipconfig readout? Enter ipconfig /all into a command window.

Okay, so there are no apparent DHCP or IP address issues. Which PC is that from? Does the other PC show similar figures for its connection?

  Bazz669 22:40 25 Sep 2006

thats from the main pc, the opther settings are pretty much the same apart from the ip address. Ive never actually done this before, before, 1 pc was connected to the net and the other wasnt. The router and the dongles are all new.
This is the first time ive owned a router and at the moment all the settings are the default.
