Conexant modem and XP

I have just upgraded to Win XP from ME. Its all gone well apart from the modem. My modem is a conexant HCF 56k v90. XP tried to call it the 'Best data/fax modem' but it didnt work. I then installed some drivers I downloaded specifically for XP before I started the upgrade. These drivers seem to allow me to connect once every 10-15 tries which isnt really that good. I have tried other drivers from variuos sites, including the manufactuer but to no avail. I have read that others have had similar troubles but none seem to be resolved.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mr Clark.

Is this the driver you tried ?

before upgrading did you make a note of the name of the modem in device manager?

No, I used the HCF one as that was what my modem was under ME.
