Concatenate audio files

I have a folder of .wav audio files that were created in WavePad by "split file" from a long file. I want to join some of them back together prior to converting to mp3 for adding to a website. Obviously, I can use WavePad and create the file but I seem to remember a DOS command of the kind FileA + FileB + FileC = FileD. Is a simple concatenate available in Windows XP SP3?

I've used this little application over the years. It will simply concatenate in a dumb fashion (which I guess will work with WAVs, but not files with headers like MP3s).

Fruit **at Tried it & it just sat and said it was processing but nothing happened, it would not respond to Cancel. In task manager it showed 50% cpu & I ditched it

You can do this, I'm pretty sure, with Audacity, which is free.
