Windows may be corrupted and might require a clean install. It has happened to me before. If your computer came with a restore cd use that and select safe restore whatever which will reinstall windows but you will still have your files.

I am quoting an example from my Advent 3119 desktop pc. Not all restore cds are the same. Some pcs have only hard drive recovery. Which version of windows are you using? If you have a manual for your pc look in the restore section.

Can you start in safe mode,And either run Last good configuration ,Or System restore.

Normally to start in safe mode, When computer starts just keep tapping on F8.If it starts on there ,try any of the two things that I said,
