computer wont boot after bios update

i had a small problem and noticed that abit had a bios update that cured the problem i used the inbuilt
abit program to do this but it locked up the computer and now the computer will not boot any ideas
please or is it a new mobo

You most likely need a new motherboard, some times you can get a BIOS but only if it's a standard build comp not Manufacture build like dell etc

hi woodchip the computer is a self build with this mobo abit ix38 quadgt there are bios downloads available what would i need to do

you could try to clear cmos by using the jumper on the motherboard, you move it to the clear position wait a few seconds then return it to the original position. refer to your motherboard manual for its location.

I believe you can clear the cmos by removing the m/board battery for 15 seconds and then replacing as well.

Check Motherboard Manual it may be a dual BIOS so you can put the old one back in case of a bad flash

i cant see wether it is dual boot but how do i go about trying to put a bios back in it might be worth a try

it will say in the motherboard manual if it is Dual BIOS

Then you need a new BIOS or Motherboard
