Computer Temperature

Having seen on a few threads members quote the temperature of their cpu etc. How do they know that?

Thanks for that. The reason I asked is my computer seems to be getting noisier by the day (even the wife is complaining) Have cleaned inside the case,hoovered it but does not seem to make a difference. It is 4 years old. Am downloading that program now. Cheers.

Of course, for this to work at all the mobo must have temp sensors built in. Most these days seem to.

Have a look at your m'boards web-site for reccomended/standard operating temps.

If it is getting noisier then this could be a fan and depending upon your operating system there are some built in diagnostic tools.

Very likely to be the bearing in a fan (possibly PSU fan) after 4 years of work. Especially as PC manufacturers are not known for fitting the best quality components outside of the glamorous bits like graphics cards etc.
