computer shutdown

when the computer is shut down for the night it starts up by itself and is on in the morning

There are certain programs which can do this by design,although I am not sure what they are.Someone else will soon tell you.I switch mine off at the wall socket.

It may be a 'Wakeup on alarm' or similar feature in your BIOS. Reboot your PC & press the Del key (usually) as it's booting up - you'll be presented with the BIOS screen. Don't change anything in there you're not sure about - ask here first. G
