thats your only problem,

you need at least a meg of ram to run XP properly

With the amount of memory you have it must be very slow.
Best bet is to let Crucial scan your computer and fit the biggest amount of memory you can
click here&
There is bo substitute for more memory.

I fitted the 2GB advised by Crucial on the link that Quiet Luife sent. They charge in Euros so it cost more than it would have done six lonths ago. All is running much more sensibly now.
