Computer freezes when Key is touched

Every so often, out of the blue, my PC freezes the
moment I touch any Key of the Keyboard. System Restore to an earlier Date gets me back to normal.
Have XP Pro and have tried everything in the book to solve this problem. Three different Keyboards, incl USB. The only thing I can't seem to correct is, to take the Keyboard driver out for good. I can uninstall it, but after restart the PC it always comes back with the original driver from the very first Keyboard. Microsoft Natural 101/102. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
