Computer freezes using NeroVision Express 3

I have been editing a number of holiday camcorder tapes and at first I had no problems editing or burning to DVD-RW. Recently, about 30mins after switching on the computer, it has totally frozen when editing, and also in the middle of burning to DVD-RW. It also did it when transferring a tape from the camcorder to the HDD yesterday. There are no error messages, and the only thing I can do is to switch off the computer with the power switch on the back, switch it back on, then proceed to start the computer in the usual way. I cannot decide whether the fault lies with NeroVision, or the computer (I have not noticed it with any other programme). The computer is a Medion PC(MS7091) with a 3.2GHz Intel 4 processor, 1GHz RAM, and twin 160GHz HDD's. I use the second drive for the video processing.
Does anybody have any ideas, please?

right click on program short cut - selevt properties - shortcut - advanced
then tick 'run in seperate memory space'

I also have a Medion and have had this problem in the past useing Nero, ( 5.5 )

I have never found either the cause or reason for this but upgrading Nero did seem to solve the problem, I do however now use Cyberlink Power Producer when ever possable to do this sort of operation
