Computer crashing only when on the internet?

  Gaz 25 19:57 15 Jul 2003

When I am on my broadband connection with all drivers updated, and firewall installed my PC sometimes goes very slow and mouse hardly moves.

What could this be?

I can not track it down, no error in event viewer so wonder what it is.

It has never done this untill now.

However if I unplug the internet all is back to normal.

No, it is my mouse that is slow, well my WHOLE pc, but only sometimes, soon as I pull the plug on the internet the problem goes.

Must be a Hacker? Even with my firewall?

Yes, dial-up but this isn't just net lag......Somehow the signals from my mouse, keyboard etc are taking ages to register and actually do. I type one letter and it's 3 secs b4 it shows up on screen. Offline is fine. Just noticed one of the few programmes that runs when online and not offline is tapiexe.exe........anyone know anything about that, please? Have run another anti virus, run spybot and ad aware and hijack this. Nothing unusual. Been happening for about 6 days now. :(

But NOT dial-up?

Have you updated from M$ recently?

  Gaz 25 20:21 15 Jul 2003

No, not downloading them.

Are your keyboard and mouse of the USB variety?

Just a thought.

  Gaz 25 20:35 15 Jul 2003

Yes, wireless USB.

But as I say only on the internet?
