computer auto shutdown

  lonemascot 17:54 03 Sep 2005

i tried installing Windows service pack 2 on my laptop but half way through the installation said I hadn't got enough memory to complete. I couldn't stop the installation however and was forced to restart my laptop with a half installed service pack.

I had to re enter my activation key for windows and now when I log on, the desktop appears as normal and after about a minute I get an error message that reads:

windows will shutdown due to C://windowns/system32/isass.exe terminating unexpectedly. it then gives me a minute to close programs and an error code (2147483641)

I don't even have enough time to uninstall what was loaded.

what can i do?

Boot into Safe Mode (tap away at F8 after the initial boot screen. Then use system restore.
