Got 40GB hard drive with the following spec
Memory: 768MB although i've really installed 1GB even thought the scan says 768?
CPU Manufacturer: AuthenticAMD
CPU Family: AMD Athlon(tm) Processor Model 4, Stepping 2
CPU Speed: 1202 MHz
Giga-Byte GA-7ZXR Motherboard
and i'am wanting to install 500GB in it or maybe more to cope with Vista and OfficeXP? can anyone help?

Your computer is a little under spec for vista,to get the best out of vista a dual core CPU is best.
Your RAM should show the correct reading you have lost 232MB so sounds like you have a wrong Memory
stick installed or one is faulty second point you won't be able to run a 500GB on your computer i dout if it would go above windows default about 129GB if your using a IDE conection without a BIOS flash RISKY.
