comparison of cpus

does anyone know of a simple chart comparing Intel and Amd processors? I am about to build a new one for myself but am finding it difficult to compare like with like. Back in the good old days [about 2 years ago] an AMD XP1800 for example was considered to be the equivalent of an Intel 1800MHz processor [although running at a lower speed]. Now I do not know for example what the Intel equivalent is to an AMD 4200 X2. If someone could point me to a chart of some sort this would be appreciated.

thanks Totally-braindead but not as simple as I am looking for. What I would like is an Intel dual core 6600 is roughly equivalent to an AMD AM" X2 ??? etc. etc.

Look at click here although it is as simple as Intel Core 2 Duo blows AMD Athlon X2 into the weeds.
