Use Acronis to make an image of the current setup.

It is well worth the few quid it costs, or if you have a Seagate or Maxtor harddrive you can get it free from Seagate site, Diskwizard or Maxblast5 are both Acronis program (slightly cut down versions)

Or EASEUS Todo Backup makes images and boot CD/DVD.

(Tool/Create Bootable disc - it may not prompt automatically)

If you have W7, Images can be made from Backup & Restore Center.
W7 Home Premium can image to a local USB HDD but not over a network to shared PC or drive.

Note I have only restored an image 3 times in a year. But one attempt failed.

If you have space, create two images.

Soon after I got my laptop, I did a factory restore, deleted all the factory rubbish, installed Firefox and a minimal set of bits and pieces, set my wallpaper and configured Windows to my liking and made an image (+boot disc) which I think of as "My Factory image".

The Compaq Factory image took 2 hours to restore.
W7 or EASEUS take about 20 minutes on a cleanish system. (25GB).

I have been known to make an image every night since they are so quick.

(Note that W7 overwrites previous image in Hidden/System Folder WindowsImageBackup. But you can mess with ownership and permissions to gain access and rename it to say MyWindowsImageBackup1 or whatever.
So I have a 'MyFactoryImage' which never gets overwritten.)

EASEUS, you can make as many images as you want.
Also Acronis and Seagate.
