Command Prompt doesn't show up in Accessories

I need to access a Command Prompt window on my Windows XP PC. However, when I click on Accessories / Command Prompt, nothing happens - the pointer simply remains as a pointer.

Obviously something has changed in the PC setup. The Command Prompt certainly used to show up. The other Accessory functions work OK.

How do I get this function back again?

Thanks for any ideas.

Does the following work?

Start > Run > enter

cmd

and click OK.

Thanks for the quick reply VoG. Yes it does work - and I have now found the problem; a corrupt shortcut.

I copied a working shortcut from one of the other log-in accounts and now it works fine again.

What caused the corruption remains a mystery.
