command to get to other hardrive

using cmd in xp to remove some files,

i have xp installed on the c drive, but the files i want to delete are on the d drive

i can browse happily through the c drive with command prompt, but what command do i use to jump to my d drive

the reason i want to do this, is that some of you may be aware if you get a corrupt file, it simply will not delete but i have done this in the past through command prompt, but did it on the c drive..

happens mostly with video files, where it wants to show a preview, so when you right click the file to delete it tries to load the preview of it first and then has problems, thats why it wont delete because this causes xp to think that it is in use, but all it is really doing is trying to show the preview, there is a reg edit i can do to remove the link to the preview..but as i started this i want to finish it, and i am interested to know how to jump from my c directory to my d, once i', at D:\ ill have no probs

At the prompt, just type d: and press Enter.
