Hi, I have a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 840C and Windows XP on PC.
The black works perfectly, but when there are colours to be printed does not work, only pink/red/ brownish colours are printed instead of real colours that should be printed. HELP

Sounds like the Cyans empty or blocked. Try taking the cartridge out and wiping the printhead with a damp tissue. You could also try tapping the cartridge gently on a hard surface. Best to put some paper down before trying this as finding the balance between sufficient and excessive force in the tapping can be messy.
If that doesn't work, it may need a new cartridge.

Have you checked your ink levels aren't runnning low, have you also tried the cleaning process?
