colour problems with monitor

  emikretep 15:39 23 Jun 2004

I have just refurbished an "old" PC but find that I can only run the monitor on 16 colours not 256 (as it was before). I'm using WIN98 as the OS as WIN XP is unreliable on this machine !

I have tried Belinea site and down loaded the latest drivers but this does not fix the problemo.

Any ideas please as the monitor is ok for text but graphics and pix on the web are awefull.

Have you tried adjusting graphics resolution?

could well be that the graphics chip/graphics card is not up to the job. Try searching the likes of e-buyer for a replacement card, possibly a PCI card as opposed to a AGP card as it is an old PC you are doing up.

I hope this is of some help
