I am still having trouble with my computer starting and restarting around five times before it will work properly. Today it came up with the following codes - 0x0000008E (0x00160000, 0x804DFB8E, 0xF94ECD44, 0x00000000. What do these mean. I am running XP Home. I have run system restore but it has not helped. I restored it back to June 1st the last time and it lost my internet connection.

Have you tried putting any of the errors in google? Run Adaware or spybot for malware or viruses.

How do you mean, 'put errors in google' can they be posted in the search engine?

ronec I seem to recall those codes with recent BSODs on my laptop.

A call to the supplier, they told me I had a major problem, called the laptop in and replaced the hard disc.
